take a gander at silvia levenson’s spiffy glass creations

It’s hard not to be super-impressed with the work made by Argentina-born, Italy-based sculptor and mixed-media artist Silvia Levenson, who explores social commentary and narrative with glass. Her sculptures are used to help explore her own past living in hiding with her family in Argentina during the brutal dictatorship of Jorge Rafael Videla, which still acts as a large inspiration for her art.

From spiky teapots to fragile grenades decked out in hot pink, Silvia’s art manages to not only look lovely and easy on the eyes, but also discuss larger themes relating to war, injustice and, in her words, “an unspeakable space” that manages to “reveal those things that are normally hidden.” If you fancy a better look at her top-notch creations, pop over to her Instagram or website.
