get a load of amber cowan’s upcycled glass sculptures
We’re just a teensy bit amazed by Philadelphia-based artist and sculptor Amber Cowan’s technicolour glass creations – all made from second-hand glass pieces she finds at flea markets, antique shops, defunct factories and broken donations from all across the U.S (we also happened to feature her art in issue 114!).
Amber’s intricate work is inspired by a uniquely feminine aesthetic as well as the concept of “horror vacui” (an art style defined by filling a space with ornate details and leaving little to no emptiness anywhere), in order to pay homage to the American tradition of glassmaking.
