feast your eyes on raymond tan's curious cake ceramics
Made in collaboration with ace ceramicist Georgina Yen Qin Lee, Raymond Tan allows his baking prowess to take centre-stage and created these tasty-looking sculptures that resemble real fancy-looking confectionaries (although we recommend not stealing a bite out of these beauts).
The self-taught baker created these cakes, popsicles and more goodies in order to "break away from the conventional notion of cakes as purely edible treats," and to instead depict them as bona-fide pieces of art – as they rightfully deserve. If you fancy taking a closer look at Raymond's work then make sure to pop by his Instagram (and check out Georgina's ripper stuff while you're at it), and if you happen to be in Naarm/Melbourne then make sure to visit Tolarno Galleries – they'll all be out on display until the 10th.
