derrick lin's miniature art captures the whimsy of everyday life

Set against alongside paperclips, pencils, notebooks and other ordinary office items, Derrick Lin's spiffy creations resemble the familiar scenes of hustle and bustle found everywhere in our modern world – except on a teeny-tiny scale.

The Seattle-based artist isn't just limited to people, with orca whales spouting from his window-sill, penguins attempting to balance on an iceberg and even a cluster of sharks circling in the ocean, as well as recreating famous works of art like Edward Hopper's 1942 "Nighthawks."
