suzanne jongmans reimagines renaissance paintings with her snaps

By

Suzanne Jongmans is a Netherlands-based shutterbug who looks to the old masters of the Renaissance like Botticelli, Da Vinci and Michelangelo as inspiration for her dreamy photography. Featuring packaging materials such as styrofoam, bubble wrap and plastic sheets to replicate bonnets and other fancy costumes of that old-timey period, Suzanne transforms the past into something that looks a tad more like our modern era – rife with consumerism and its subsequent litter.

Suzanne explains that the use of these materials "as a reaction to the present and the mass consumption that surrounds us," but she still views these packaging pieces as "diamonds in the rough." Fancy a closer look at her lovely snaps? Make sure to check out her Instagram
