Nevada-based painter Erin Hanson fits so many bright colours into her snazzy paintings you’d swear she somehow invented a new shade – but she does happen to be the pioneer of a new art style, known as ‘Open Impressionism’, which is identified with the use of colour to mimic the beauty of light streaming through stained-glass windows.
Inspired by the striking landscapes found in her hometown as an avid rock climber, Erin first began her art journey by replicating the vivid splendour she found by painting a new scene every week.
