a list of nice-smelling candles

By

While we may no longer require the light from a flame to help see in the dark (electricity kind of has that covered these days), the sweet smell of a freshly-lit candle is something that modern technology cannot replace... yet. From the floral scents of lavender and rose to the muskier sandalwood and cedar, a candle can help make all the difference when it comes to feng shui. Take a gander at our list below of all the nicest candles you can nab for yourself.

Nonna’s Grocer is a one-stop-shop for life-like candles that look good enough to eat (but please don’t). As the name suggests, the candles include a whole range of fruit and food you’d find in your local grocer such as grapes, avocados, chilli peppers and even a whole stick of butter. If you want your home to look and smell like fresh and delicious produce then have a squiz at their online store, which is nothing short of a foodie’s wonderland.

Öde Studio Created by the clever, flower-loving buds over at Daily Blooms, Öde Studio is Melbourne-based and features the beautiful artwork of the Victorian landscape by abstract painter Julian Jones. They currently offer three super-nice scents – Bramble, Balm and Plume – that can transport you to another time in your life, help you relax and make your home smell absolutely wonderful, so make sure to pop over to their website.

Glow Worm Goods If quirky-looking candles that you'll probably never burn are more your thing, then look no further than Glow Worm Goods, which has a healthy heaping of burnable croissants, fried chicken and even glasses of milk. Visit their online store to pick up one of these yummy creations, just try not to give into temptations and take a bite  they sadly won’t taste as good as they look.

Cozy’z Collective Speaking of cute candles, the team over at Cozy’z Collective have a ripper collection. We’re especially fond of their cereal candle, which smells just as sweet as the real thing. They’ve got a whole bunch of other stuff on display over on their Instagram, if you fancy.

Forth Oak These candles are almost too pretty to burn, but they also smell too dang nice to not light them up. This Melbourne brand has everything from smiley flower buds to love heart tea lights and tall floral pillars, which would all sit pretty nicely in anyone’s abode. Have a look at their Instagram, and then pop over to their online store to grab yourself some of their pastel creations.

CandleXChange If you want some nice smells with an extra bonus of feeling nice by helping out our planet, then look no further. Frustrated with the high amount of clutter and waste that came with candle purchases, CandleXChange aims to reduce the high amount of single-use packaging with their ‘burn and swap’ system, and we even caught up with the brand’s founder a while ago to discuss the importance of sustainability in business. Learn more about them by visiting their website and take a look at all the neat candles on display, too.
