a handful of ways to celebrate naidoc week

This year's theme is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud".

Starting from the 7th of July and ending on the 14th, NAIDOC Week is a time for us all to celebrate and highlight the rich history and culture of Indigenous Australians – which is why we thought it would be handy to jot down a couple of ace brands, events and creators for you lovely readers to check out.

Cast your peepers over our picks below, and while we have you: why not treat your ears to our ripper playlist filled to the brim with talented First Nations musos?

EVENTS AND MORE

Cricut ANZ Designs have teamed up with artists Kyralee Shields, Leah Cummins and Breanna Buttenshaw to create some lovely designs you can snatch up, and here's the best news: all proceeds made go towards the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and Children's Ground

Fashion label Magpie Goose collaborated with land management organisation Firesticks Alliance in order to create a limited-edition range of spiffy tees all centred on the importance of cultural burning. Check them out for yourself this-a-way.

Keep an eye out for the winners of the National NAIDOC Week Awards Ceremony, where 10 talented recipients will be honoured for their hard work in art, sport, education and heaps more.

You can now sit down and enjoy some of the very-best Indigenous films ever made simply by popping over here, where you can partake in an online First Nations film fest – which we reckon is pretty dang rad. These lovely flicks all have a strong focus on education, entertainment and history.

Sydney/Eora Nation will be host to 'Inner City NAIDOC Family Fun Day', which will chock-full of traditional dance, entertainers, bands, tasty food and more – check out the full list of loveliness by visiting the event's website

Melbourne/Naarm pals should mosey on down to this page, where you can get a full glimpse of all the rad events taking place throughout the CBD and beyond. Spoilers: there's flag raising, galas and marches all to take part in.

On the topic of Melbourne/Naarm events, Federation Square will be holding a ripper market of over 25 stalls on Friday and Saturday (12th and 13th) that showcase art, food, fashion, craft, design and more – AKA, this is not an event to miss out on.
