Framework Designs sells handcrafted bike bags for everyday adventures, from commuting to getting far off the beaten track! Our focus is on creating bike bags that are functional without compromising on aesthetics (aka that look damn good!).

The idea for the label began after a trip to Japan, during which my partner and I cycled around with bags I’d made on my tiny domestic sewing machine. Closing in on its second year of trading (and two industrial sewing machines later), I’m stoked to be stocked in several independent bicycle stores around Australia. I hold out for shops that align with our values and promote inclusivity in the cycling community. Along with our wholesalers, we of course have an online store in which you can fully customise your bags with your choice of colours and hardware options.

I’m very proud to be using Australian-made, waterproof canvas as the primary material in our products. It can withstand the harshest weather conditions while still looking refined, so our bags can be used anywhere from adventures in the wilderness to (socially distanced) dinner dates with mates.

Cycling is such an integral part of our society, and I take great pride in creating products that encourage people to go out and immerse themselves in nature, or commute around town, producing zero emissions. You wear so many hats as a sole trader, but my favourite one is definitely designer. I’m itching to release new products and expand our range. I can’t describe the joy I get from a chance encounter of my bags in the wild, so I definitely want to see more of them out there!
