2023 marks the 20th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s absolutely incredible (and frankie favourite) debut album, Frank, as well as what would have been the late singer’s 40th birthday. To celebrate these two monumental anniversaries, Behind The Gallery is hosting UK photographer Charles Moriarty’s intimate collection of the singer, taken just before she released her first-ever album and hit super-stardom. Based in Melbourne, Behind The Gallery hosts a range of photography pop-up events for photographers displaying their work in Australia for the first time, with a strong focus on music and pop culture.
All you shutterbugs, music enthusiasts and Amy-lovers alike should definitely consider adding this Melbourne event onto your itineraries, especially since this exhibition is only open to the public from November 1st to November 5th at 10AM to 5PM, with Charles Moriarty himself hosting an in-person artist talk on November 4th at 12:30PM.
