susie lochhead, harry lochhead and amity yore - the wattle tree
VIDEO
Central Coast, NSW
This project was inspired by a story about a boy lying beneath a wattle tree, and how nature can help replenish and restore us. It is also about the early history of Australia, looking at the appalling treatment of Aboriginal people and the devastating impact colonisation has made on the environment in a little over 200 years.
It is a plea for tolerance and understanding, kindness to all people from all backgrounds, and an attempt to draw attention and respect to the great beauty and importance of the natural world that surrounds us.
