su-an ng – woven moments
Video
Sydney, NSW
Woven Moments – a Transport for NSW commission – is an abstract expressionistic animation reflecting on our interconnectedness to each other, the land we live on, and space we exist in. Woven Moments is inspired by quantum physics theory, visually represented in wave and particle forms.
Blending traditional and new media, the tactile quality brings an immersive sense of warmth to the space. This engagement of viewers through nature’s movements enlivens biophilia – our innate tendency to seek connections with nature. Known as heraclitean motion, these movements mimic those found in nature associated with safety and tranquility, triggering an automated relaxation response in viewers.
