spy max hooper schneider’s otherworldly dioramas
A stage for bioluminescent mushrooms made from multi-coloured cereal might not be something we reckon a lot of you have ever seen before, but thanks to L.A.-based artist Max Hooper Schneider, we can finally cast our peepers onto some super-surreal creations. His dreamy dioramas explore a possible non-human future – with designs based on his studies on marine biology and architecture – with a keen focus on how non-biological materials meld into and transform our environments.
Max Hooper Schneider aims to challenge viewers on our “anthropocentric positioning and perspectives on life, death and the material states,” with his art, helping to blur the lines between organic and inorganic forms. Peep more of his art over here.
