If I could, I would marry paper! I’m a paper hoarder; I collect anything and everything, whether it’s an old movie ticket, magazine pages or clothing tags. My love of intricate detail, design, literature, materials and arts and crafts inspired me to create an intimate experience for the viewer, as though they can hold the composition in one hand while at the same time imagining themselves in it. I began with the idea of capturing a moment in time – this evolved into personal and quirky handmade collages exploring the aesthetics of the home, reflecting an outspoken celebration of the simple things in life. I worked meticulously and intuitively with diversely sourced materials, only reusing what I found around me: cutting up old jeans, thread, bags and magazines.
