As a filmmaker, I always wanted to tell the story of a drag queen. I was introduced to Miss Jay through a very close friend of mine and loved discovering her story. I realised that drag as a creative outlet has the capacity to be cathartic and healing. In Miss Jay’s case, it saved her life!

Drag goes so much deeper than being something just for fun. Beyond the fabulous and colourful exterior lies many layers, and I wanted to demonstrate in the film how multifaceted and empowering drag can be for an individual.
