We’re not here to romanticise the past and long for a bygone era of systematic racism, rampant sexism and the constant threat of nuclear warfare hanging over everybody’s heads – good thing those problems no longer exist and affect our daily lives, right? But to give credit where it's due, people of the past really knew how to travel in style. Aeroplane travel definitely doesn’t have the same pizazz it used to. Nowadays, travelling via plane can in no way be described as an elegant experience, except if you’re flush with cash and can travel business class, of course.
