I’m a textile design and sculpture artist. Traversing both floor and wall, and a hybrid of both rug and tapestry, this work is constructed from a spectrum of red and purple lengths of finger-knitted yarn that are configured into an intuitively created pattern that extends across the highly textured and undulating fibre surface. This work questions the essence of comfort and the ecology of belonging, prompting the audience to consider that, potentially, all art is about comfort to a certain degree, whether it’s about pushing one out of their comfort zone or embedding them further in it.
