I practise a free-form style of floristry without floral foam. I like to include offbeat elements that accentuate the natural beauty of flowers. With this piece, I was asked to create a backdrop for speeches and sparkling wine in an event at the Fitzroy Town Hall. Since the event was in the Reading Room, I built a botanical lampshade from sea holly, cotton, persimmon and billy buttons on a vintage brass lamp stand.
