Welcome Merchant is a social enterprise that elevates refugee and asylum-seeker entrepreneurs in Australia. Our mission is to change the negative conversation around refugees and people seeking asylum. Lack of industry connections and digital fluency often means that many refugee businesses don’t receive the attention they deserve.
Welcome Merchant acts as a directory, making it easy for conscious shoppers to find unique products and curated experiences, all while making a meaningful social impact. Since we launched in March 2020, we've featured over 60 refugee-powered businesses on our social media channels and online directory, and have successfully run four sold-out events that were hosted by refugee entrepreneurs.
