I am a family documentary-style photographer based in Melbourne. Since becoming a mother of two, my work focuses on imagery in people’s homes, preserving expressions of love and the beauty of everyday moments.
I was commissioned to document life as it currently is for this family in their own home. I was interested in showing the beauty in ordinary moments, which naturally happen between family members, as well as the nostalgia of childhood. Using a documentary unscripted approach, I knew the energetic brother would eventually join his sister who was quietly reading on the bed, allowing me to capture both of their personalities perfectly in the one image. Nothing is better than real life.
