I’m the founder and milliner behind Lauren J Ritchie Millinery. The Mayfair is a modern adaption on the hat shape that is traditionally known as the Dior Brim. I used layers of tulle with graduated edges to provide a delicate floating look, and offset the ellipse shape of the hat while keeping the lines crisp, clean and striking. I originally created the piece for the 2019 Myer Millinery Award during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
