Hair Unruly is a reflection on the beauty I saw around me growing up in a multi-generational household in Kuala Lumpur, and the time spent with my now-deceased uncle who helped raise me and my younger brother.

People don't really associate Asian communities with glamour, but it is there and it is strong. Glamorous women in Asia embody a power that I haven’t ever seen growing up in Australia.

Hair Unruly was presented at the Emerging Writers' Festival 2019 Amazing Babes event.
