gaze at danym kwon’s mellow paintings

By

Danym Kwon is a Korean-American artist based in San Francisco who incorporates the traditional Korean folk art tradition of Chaekgado – still-life paintings focusing on books as the dominant subject – to create these dreamy landscapes placed within vases and piles of laundry.

Her penchant for including isolated homes placed within sparse environments helps reflect Danym’s lived experiences; “Seeing a house standing alone on a vast land reminds me of myself and my family living in America as immigrants.” Take a look at Danym’s lovely art by visiting her website, over here.
