five designers to keep on your radar for this year’s afw
Check out our picks for upcoming designers you should keep a look out for Australia’s most stylish week.
Held annually in Sydney, Australian Fashion Week is the country’s most fabulous and biggest fashion event – which is exactly why we’re keen to showcase some lovely labels that we reckon deserve a shoutout. Peep our list of upcoming designers that you should keep an eye on down below (and think about saving them to your bookmarks folder).
AMY LAWRANCE This Naarm-based designer describes her pieces as “part old-world, part mid-century” and “part sci-fi,” although we reckon that these spellbinding garments just so happen to be 100 per cent exactly what we’re after (just look at those bonnets – we’re in love!). Check out more of Amy’s designs by popping over to her website or Instagram page.

It also happens to be a favourite of a number of fashionable folks such as Lisa from BLACKPINK, Ruel, Genesis Owusu and others, so it’s not just us who are fans of this colourful label. ASIYAM Founded by Muslim designer Asia Hassan, this fashion label is reimagining what modest fashion looks like (AKA fun, colourful and luxe). ASIYAM was born out of Asia’s desire to wear accessible garments that looked as nice as they felt, pairing delicate designs with a fashion-forward aesthetic that someone could wear no matter the weather. Keep an eye on the brand’s Instagram over here for a better look at Asia’s garb.
