emily medbury and harry cassell – mycelium made

Video

Melbourne, VIC

This story originated as a magazine editorial I created for my graduation project. Influenced by mass consumption in the fashion industry, I found innovator Amanda Morglund, who forms a collaborative partnership between fungi and recycled materials.

The film was created in my living room on $50, entirely by myself and my business partner/cinematographer Harry, and funded out of my own pocket. It then went on to screen at the Environmental Film Festival, as well as numerous others; win the Unscene Film Competition; and I had the opportunity to speak on a panel at Shorts Relief: Flicks for the Fires about the importance of films for change.
