‘Interplanetary Funk’ was created as an exploration of women's place in the 1960s Space Age movement – a creative interpretation documenting their contribution, which has been almost incredibly undervalued due to unwarranted sexism within the space program.
My friends travelled out to Clunes on a windy winter's day to model. I collected old jumpsuits from markets that I spray-painted to look like spacesuits. I shot on my mum's old Canon and minimally edited to add a little grain and warmth to reflect the 1960s aesthetic.
