We wanted to create a simple, convenient piece that could be pulled up close to a sofa – to hold a glass of wine, a bowl of olives or a laptop. Over a period of six months, we prototyped, used and tested, and this was the version we warmed to the most. It was simple in design – a single run of steel formed to create the base structure. The engineering allows for a cantilevered paper-thin stone top, like a diving board, to suspend over the sofa. It’s one of those designs that we reckon wouldn’t work any other way.
