I like to examine fragments of my life, looking at the emotions they carry and their innate fragility. Studying moments and how I experience them through ideas of melancholy, family/home, the self, love and coming of age. I work mostly with pencil on paper. With an interest in softness and delicacy, I employ sensitive materials throughout the process of making. I enjoy using different processes of smudging, blending, shading and removal in order to emulate textures in my drawings. In this piece I’m exploring how identity changes as I grow, as well as the uncertainty that can follow.
