alicja kozlowska’s embroidery shows the art in our daily lives

We all know and recognise many brands and food items these days, so it’s sometimes easy to forget that even the most unassuming items – like cereal boxes and lolly packets – had to be designed and created by people. But textile artist Alicja Kozlowska noticed, which helped inspire her Embroidered Ordinaries project where she embroidered, beaded and used heaps of other textiles to recreate the same products that you'd find in a grocery store.

Alicja explains that this project is inspired by the “everyday consumerism and characteristic brands from around the world,” and therefore made these textile sculptures to help more folk realise that art is all around us, every day. Peep more of her art over here, and take a gander at Embroidered Ordinaries this-a-way.
