Kukukachu is a virtual textile studio specialising in creating exclusive artwork prints for the fashion industry. We have an amazing team of freelancers to help us create our beautiful collections and focus on offering a supportive team environment for designers who want to learn and love to work from home at the same time.
Freedom is at the core of Kukukachu, and we aim to explore this in every avenue we take. We're inspired to help creatives be creative, and are committed to innovation and originality.
Kukukachu began when, after travelling, I moved back to Sydney and struggled to find work for two years. I settled for a few different retail jobs and freelancing, never really feeling fulfilled. I finally got fed up and said to myself, “If no one wants to give me a job, I’m going to make my own,” and that’s just what I did.
In the beginning, I was designing everything myself, working from my parents’ house. Fast-forward to 2019, I still work from home alone, running the show as the creative director, but now have an amazing team of 20 freelancers from around the globe.
We’re an international company, selling our artworks to approximately 100 labels in Australia, New Zealand, New York, Los Angeles and Canada. Over our 5 years, we’ve gained a client base including Billabong, Zulu & Zephyr, Seafolly, Bonds, Victoria's Secret, Macy's and Free People.
