Pets are so much more than just the furry, feathery or scaley critters that we share our homes with. Approximately 69 per cent of Aussie households own a pet, with Kiwis close behind with 68 per cent, and a vast majority of pet owners (us included) consider their pets to be an integral part of their family. While pooches and moggies remain the most popular of animal companions, birds, reptiles, small mammals and other critters have also found love and homes with countless other animal lovers.
